As we come to the end of a school year, we would like to thank the officers of St. Patrick Preschool Parent Association for their dedication and service to the school this past year: President Cristiana Grassi, Vice President Fabiola Bueno, Co-Secretaries Jasmine Rivera and Maria Ortega, and Treasurer Caroline Lisamore. If you see them, please extend your own appreciation for an outstanding job this past year. The “Wine and Cheese/Guest Speaker” event on April 24 was an informative and fun evening. What great weather we had! A Big THANK YOU to Nancy Barquin for hosting this event at her home. All parents are asked to attend a Parent Association Meeting on
Tuesday, May 4, 9:00am. the Teacher Resource Room. On the agenda will be: Staff Appreciation Day, Election of Officers for the 2010-2011 School Year and plans for the 2010-2011 School Year. Please plan to attend and offer your suggestions.

The school year is coming to a close. All 9 groups have been learning about the world around them. It has been our privilege to watch your children grow and learn. Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift, your children. If you did not have your parent/teacher conference, it's not too late to schedule one with your child's teacher. We hope you and your families will join us on Thursday, June 3 for our end of year celebrations.
Group 1 thorough 7 will have their program at 9:15am., in the school auditorium. This will be followed by group parties in each classroom for
Groups 1 through 7. The Pre-K 4 Groups 8 and 9 will have a special Graduation Program and Celebration starting at 10:45am. in the auditorium. This will be followed by a party in the Patrician Room. You will be given more information about both of these events as the day approaches.

In May, your child’s teacher will take the class to visit the classrooms that they may be in for the next school year. PreK-4 will visit the Kindergarten at
St. Patrick School. We are collecting MEN’S items for our dramatic play area.
If you have any of the following, please donate to your class:
wallet, watch, shoes, shirt, clip on tie, hat, or briefcase.

NAEYC ACCREDITATION

St. Patrick Preschool is currently accredited by The National Association for the education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are working very hard on our candidacy materials, classroom and center portfolios to renew our accreditation from NAEYC. One necessary component is to have you fill out and return the NAEYC Self-Assessment Family Survey. You will be asked to circle YES, NO or DK for “don’t know”. The Survey will be in the family mailboxes on May 10th.

We are asking every family to fill one out and drop it off in the box at the Center Office or give it to any preschool staff member. Your response to this survey is confidential and anonymous. We have made many changes at our preschool over the years that have been initiated by caring and concerned parents. We welcome your ideas and suggestions.
