Cardinal Stanislaw Born in Poland, was ordained to the priesthood in 1963 by Krakow’s Auxiliary Bishop, Karol Wojtyla. In 1966 Fr. Dziwisz became his personal secretary after Wojtyla was elevated to archibishop. Dziwisz was ordained Bishop in 1998 and became a joint head of the Prefecture of the Papal Household. He was recognized as one of the pope’s most trusted aids and became, in his own right, an important voice of the Vatican. He was elevated to archbishpo in 2003. Later in 2005 Pope Benedict XVI named Dziwisz

Archbishop of Krakow. In 2006 he was also appointed to the College of Cardinals and named to the Congregation for Catholic Education and the Pontifical Council for social Communication.

BLACK CATHOLICS CELEBRATE REVIVAL SERVICE

Black Catholics in the Archdiocese of Miami will hold their annual Revival Services in preparation for the celebration of Easter and in observance of Black History Month February 6-8. This Year’s theme is “The Power of Faith” and will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

ARCHBISHOP WENSKI CELEBRATES MARRIAGE MASS

Archbishop Thomas Wenski invites couples celebrating 25, 50 or more years of Marriage this year to the Anniversary Mass at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. Mary.

HEALTH INSURANCE

The US Department of Health and Human Services has announced that almost all employers, including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their enployees Health coverage that includes steralization, abortion, inducing drugs and contraception. For catholics this ruling is a violation of the First Amendment of religious liberty.
